Terms of Use
Effective: April 5, 2025 | Last revised: September 2, 2026
Who We Are
Veripod Corp is a licensed freight broker — DOT# 4550659, MC# 1807190 — registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and incorporated in Delaware. Veripod Corp operates as an intermediary connecting shippers with licensed motor carriers. Veripod Corp does not take physical possession of freight and is not a motor carrier or freight forwarder.
Broker Surety / Financial Security
Pursuant to current FMCSA financial responsibility requirements, Veripod Corp maintains a broker surety bond or trust fund in compliance with BMC-84/85 requirements ($75,000 minimum). Surety provider information is available upon request or through the FMCSA Licensing and Insurance system at safer.fmcsa.dot.gov.
Who Can Use the Platform
- Shippers must be US-based businesses or individuals tendering freight for transport
- Carriers must hold active FMCSA authority (MC# or DOT#) and maintain required insurance
- Drivers must complete Veripod Corp identity verification (Plaid IDV) and maintain a valid CDL
Document Hierarchy
In the event of any conflict between Veripod Corp documents, the following order of precedence applies (highest to lowest):
- Applicable federal and state law
- Master Carrier Agreement (if separately executed) — controls over all platform documents for carrier-side obligations
- Rate Confirmation / Load Confirmation — controls at the load level for specific shipment terms
- Shipper posting terms (accepted at load tender)
- These Platform Terms of Use
- Veripod Corp's Acceptable Use & Anti-Fraud Policy (incorporated by reference)
- Veripod Corp's Biometric Data Notice (incorporated by reference)
Note: The Rate Confirmation is subordinate to the Master Carrier Agreement but controls over these general Terms for load-specific matters.
Cargo Liability — Carmack Amendment
Liability for loss or damage to freight in transit is governed by the Carmack Amendment (49 U.S.C. § 14706). The carrier bears primary liability for cargo. Veripod Corp, as broker, is not liable for cargo loss, damage, or delay except as may be separately agreed in a written broker-carrier agreement, or to the extent Veripod Corp is found liable under applicable law for its own negligence, including negligent selection of a carrier. Carriers acknowledge this allocation of liability by accepting loads through the platform.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited as a matter of law.
Carrier Requirements
Carriers must at all times maintain active FMCSA operating authority, current liability and cargo insurance, and a valid DOT safety rating. Veripod Corp monitors carrier authority status and may suspend carrier access if authority lapses. Veripod Corp uses FMCSA SAFER data for ongoing carrier validation.
Cargo Claims
Cargo loss, damage, or delay claims are the responsibility of the carrier that transported the load, consistent with the Carmack Amendment liability allocation described above. Veripod Corp may facilitate the submission and initial routing of a claim between the parties as a courtesy, but does not adjudicate, guarantee, or independently insure any claim.
Cargo claims must be filed in writing within 9 months of delivery (or the date delivery should have been made), consistent with industry standard and federal practice. Supporting documentation required: signed proof of delivery (POD), bill of lading, invoice, and photographs of damage where applicable. Claims submitted outside this window may be denied.
A civil action to enforce a denied claim must be commenced within two (2) years of the date written notice of disallowance is provided, consistent with 49 U.S.C. § 14706(e).
Carrier Identity Verification
Veripod Corp validates carrier MC# and DOT# against FMCSA SAFER at onboarding and periodically thereafter. Carriers warrant that all submitted credentials are accurate and belong to them. Misrepresentation of identity or operating authority results in immediate account termination and may be reported to FMCSA and law enforcement.
Payments
Carrier payment terms are set out in the applicable rate confirmation and broker–carrier agreement for each load. Veripod Corp maintains a record of each brokered transaction — including the compensation received, the payer, and the date of payment to the carrier — for three years, as required by 49 CFR 371.3. Each party to a transaction has the right to review the record of that transaction. Veripod Corp is not a licensed money transmitter and does not hold customer funds as a deposit.
Platform License
Veripod Corp grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the platform for legitimate freight operations. Accounts are personal and non-transferable. See the Acceptable Use Policy for prohibited conduct.
Intellectual Property
All platform software, design, trademarks, and content belong to Veripod Corp. You retain ownership of your freight data; you grant Veripod Corp a license to process it to provide the service.
Termination
Veripod Corp may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law — with or without notice for violations involving fraud, identity misrepresentation, or cargo theft.
Limitation of Liability
Veripod Corp's aggregate liability is capped at the greater of: (a) fees paid to Veripod Corp in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) $100. Veripod Corp is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
